Sad thing is, it does, in a way. Conyers only gets away with what his constituents let him. This culture engenders a fiefdom mentality - remember Washington DC's Mayor-for-Life Marion Barry? He was resoundingly re-elected after serving time in prison for a drug charge. You should have seen the huzzas that rang across DC on the day he was released! I remember one black minister proclaim "Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet." - heretically quoting from the parable of the Prodigal Son (notwithstanding the Barry never repented).
And now, after his death, the City government wants to erect a statue of Barry in DC.
It's a sad, cancerous subculture.
Nauseating to say the least.
Rumor is some civil ‘servants’ in DC pass their jobs on to their children. DC’s delusion is that they’re royalty - more ‘deep state’ disgusting delusions of grandeur.
