I do not think that would be Constitutional.
The Federal government cannot force local government officials to enforce federal law.
They *can* remove federal funds. They have no authority to jail local officials for refusing to enforce federal law.

What happens when and (not) “if” Dems control the WH and Congress again and pass strict gun-grab legislation, and local authorities in Red States or the South andcWest stand on the Second amendment and refuse to enforce it?
Could THEY be thrown in prison? Just sayin’. Does this give precedent to the Feds have such powers over the individual states?

Aiding and abetting is already a crime....
Maybe they can add a rider that says anyone protecting an illegal is subject to the same punishment the illegal is for the crimes committed - anything from fines/jail/deportation.....
