We need to pull out of NATO period. Let Europe defend itself. The US taxpayer doesn't need to pay for any of the EUs socialist utopias. Same for the UN and any other defense treaty or global trade treaty we are engaged in.
The United States is a sovereign nation.

That was tried more than once. 1812, 1914, 1942. America is too big to stay out of things. The world has to be managed so that it doesn’t constantly need to be bailed out, or it will keep biting America in the ass every Monday and Thursday (Yiddish expression).

Yep. In 1949 much of Western Europe was still in ruins. And the Soviets still had a huge army in the field. Neither of these is true today. The US should withdraw to merely an observer status in NATO.
