Very ineffiecient use of labor. 2x the workers for one tenth the energy.

Yes, it's investment in future energy. Past solar labor is currently producing that energy and will produce more in the future, for the price of maintenance which is cheaper than mining.

But in a day's work, a coal miner can produce 2000 times more energy than a solar worker. But after those panels operate for 5 years their productivity will be equal and the rest of the energy from the solar will be much lower cost than fossil (maintenance costs only).
