Howdy, EGC! (((hugs)))
All is well here except for my MIL not doing too well today. It’s overcast and I’m pretty sure that we’ll be getting a strong cold front tonight. Has it already arrived up there?
Hope you and Bo have a good trek at the lake. Did he find any critters yesterday? I imagine a lot of them are hiding till spring. :)
They may be hiding. I imagine with spring coming they may be a little more active.
I know, for two years I gave tours in a Navy R4D (DC-3) that was one of the early aircraft in the Berlin airlift. The plane was based at Marathon, Florida Keys in the Experimental Aircraft Association's aviation museum.
Every German visitor, and their were hundreds; even teen girls knew about the airlift. And they knew who flew the planes, and about the "Candy Bombers" who dropped tons of sweets from the approaching transports. It was the most uplifting part of my day!
We thank you for your service to our country.
No clear sky....IT IS RAINING!! Real rain....it is awful!
My Mom had hallucinations for several years.
The closest we came to explaining it to her was Charles Bonnet Syndrome. No way were we putting her through any tests for official results. The combination of loss of sight and hearing seem to cause hallucinations. She accepted the explanation as “it” had a name.
She had macular degeneration and not quite total hearing loss. The combination caused worse and worse results. The poor neighbor across the street was blamed constantly in the last 6 months or so for putting all sorts of signs on every house across the street...some very personal, some with bad words. She also saw the tree cutting guys rappelling out of helicopters and cutting all the trees, including coming into HER yard WITHOUT her permission and cutting ours down as well. She saw a carousel, and everything else under the sun. Meds did not help. Sometimes they so offended her that she hid behind furniture so “he” could not see that she was spending time at her own window.
And until the very end she saw bleachers in the back yard, with a choir, and a dirigible giving rides. *sigh*
This was something else I wish I had known earlier....I should not have tried to explain....you cannot explain to a dementia patient.
She would say “I understand they are in my head, but they are real and out there”.
You can only go along a little and let her know she sees them, but only her.
ODAAT. ((HUGS))
