Currently he sees Trump’s overt pro Israel policies to be immensely preferable to those likely to be implemented by a Democratic Administration. He has been defending Trump in a way that would be unthinkable for him ten years ago.
Similarly, actor Ron Silver had been an activist ‘Rat for most of his life. A few years before his death, he came out strongly in favor of Bush and many conservative policies. It was mainly because of Bush’s handling of 9/11, and support of Israel, and how the left treats Israel. IIRC, he paid a price in Hollywood for his change of heart.
