BTW, this doesn’t ‘date’ me; it only shows how well versed in American history my education might be. :-)

I'm 64 and I clearly remember the host saying, would You like to be Queen for a day?!" There were only two or three channels any TV would pick up. If your mother or grandmother had the TV on, no one could help but hear it.

They had no TV-ears back in “de” day. The Host, Jack Bailey. Not that I remember, but Kimberly Clark should have been the sponsor. The sob stories heard would have drummed up astronomical business for them.
