North Korea is willing to negotiate with the United States on its nuclear program, as long as Russia plays a role in those talks, according to a Russian lawmaker.

“North Korea is currently ready to conduct negotiations with the US with the participation of Russia as a third party," Vitaly Pashin, a member of the Russian legislature, told state-run media following a trip to the Korean Peninsula.

It used to be the US refused to negotiate directly with North Korea one on one. So now they get what they want again. One of the USSR’s favorite tactics was to demand concessions for even sitting down to talk. Will that be next?

I believe there are 5 or 6 parties involved with the ongoing talks. North Korea limiting talks to Russia and the US is just playing games.

Only one solution, take North Korea out once and for all. Regroup South Korea and North Korea into one country again, Korea.

No. What is there to negotiate? Fat man is suppose to comply with at least 8 separate UN resolutions including 1718 which prohibited, amongst other things, nuclear testing.

Russia was not a party to the Korean War armistice and should not be a party to any negotiations between the U.S. and North Korea.

China has played such a role sometimes, but China was one of the signatories to the armistice.

Why is North Korea looking for Russia to play a role? China is losing patience with them, and has made it clear if they initiate hostilities China will not rescue them.

This will be the first time NK negotiates without a payment up front.
Every other time they got money and concessions before negotiating. Then, having already got what they wanted, did nothing.

Winning!
