Nurses Unlimited is in charge of her care and we give the meds that she’s prescribed. Try not to hurt her as we turn her in the bed or sit her up on the side of the bed. She’s such a sweetie!

It was a quiet day here. It felt good to NOT have to go ANYWHERE for a change. LOL

Not nearly as warm and nice as yesterday but not all that chilly. Temps won’t be too bad until a week from now when they go into winter-mode.

We thought we might get a little rain today but nothing fell here, durn it.

Quiet days are good! Although, I haven’t really been anywhere since Dulcie got here. I guess if I really felt motivated, I could, but meh.

Supposed to get colder here over the weekend, too. Finally down in the low 30s at night. I guess it’s about time, huh!

Sorry y’all didn’t get any rain. It’s still been a while, huh? Did Church get his stroll today?

Quiet days are REALLY good. LOL

It’ll cool down a little over the weekend here but nights in the 30s have been common lately. Next weekend, they’re talking about highs in the upper 30s/low 40s with lows in the teens. That’s too cold for comfort.

Yes, it’s been too long without rain in this area. There were some showers scattered across the state but we weren’t lucky enough to get one.

Church didn’t get a stroll today. It was a bit too cool for him to go out. I wish his stuffy head would clear up.

Sad news from The Owl Channel:

“We are deeply saddened. It appears that something tragic has happened to Didi. She did not return and the owlets have all passed away. We are devastated and in deep sorrow. “

OMG! I was just getting ready to check on them. Been running through the eagle nests the past couple of minutes.

This is such sad news. :-(

I’m glad you weren’t paying attention. LOL! It took a long time for the first one to post and I was just SURE you were going to get it.

I would have hated to be the monitors that had to sit and watch those babies die and not be able to do anything. They said that Jasper brought food to them, but he, as a barn owl, had no brood patch and no clue how to sit on them to keep them warm.

They don’t know what happened to Didi as of now. It’s a terrible loss. I checked the nest yesterday morning, but you could only see 2 of the little ones. The others were too tiny and were under Didi. :(

I’ve read a lot of the chat and read that Jasper had been in with food but didn’t know what to do. It’s too bad owls aren’t like so many other birds that both parents brood and feed.

I checked in last night and noticed Didi wasn’t on the nest but didn’t read any of the chat at the time. I just thought she’d stepped out for a sec to stretch her legs and wings.

Jasper was sitting outside a little while ago, in view of the LO cam but he flew up into the tree out of sight. Poor feller seems lost without Didi.

I wonder if they’ll ever discover what happened.

I’m so tired tonight, I’m not paying much attention to anything.

Dulcie was having nightmares last night, but when she screams out “help” and I hear it on the monitor, I have to go check, just in case. At one time she was talking in her sleep that she was in a story book and wanted out. We could have had a good laugh about it if she could hear me. :)

I think it goes next to hubby’s ear tonight. That’s the only way he’d ever hear it...if even then. LOL!

I think she’s sleeping more peacefully tonight.

I think the chatters said that the owl in the tree was an MO...too slender to be Jasper. They speculated that it might be one from a former brood.

Poor Dulcie. Can’t be fun having nightmares all night.
And not fun for you when you have to keep getting up to check on her. Sounds like putting the monitor nest to your hubby’s ear tonight would be a good plan.

Glad she’s sleeping peacefully at the moment and hope that remains the case all night.

Yes, I saw where some thought it was the MO from last night but others thought it could be Jasper. It could well have been one of the former owlets. It hasn’t been back since it flew off.
