If I’m understanding him correctly, he believes when one hits on the west coast/area, it’s sending one over the the east coast/area?
Do I have that right?
Ping for sheeps’ bladders.
Actually this PA area is pretty much as good as it gets as far as natural disasters and extreme weather goes. Too many liberals is the biggest threat to us.
It was Chris Christie falling out of bed.
That finally explains it. Thanks.
“I thought a big truck was going by the house.”
Thought the same thing about that one in VA that went off 5 or 6 years ago.
30 minutes from me...didn’t feel anything.
Soon after left, then hear something on radio, and on FR.
Felt the 2011 quake like a gorilla on my roof! This was the damage:
Brutal winters? Not even close.
Sometimes we get major snow storms. Rarely we get hit by a hurricane a bit. But our little mid-Atlantic area is about ideal as it gets for “natural disasters”. Including the animal kind - we hardly have any creatures to be afraid of.
It’s ideal from a nature standpoint.
Not me in same place. Not at all.
You got that right
It’s been many years ago that I was a lineman for a local CATV company. IIRC it was ‘79 and I was doing a wreckout of of a local business. Being about 40’ on a utility pole when a 6.1 magnitude struck. No ducking in that situation.
Forgot to mention that was SoCal.
I felt it in upper Bucks County. We were joking it must have been an earthquake. The joke’s on me.
Now Iran and Papua New Guinea have both been hit by 6+ quakes he forecast
I live a little closer to Dover in the DC metro area, but didn’t notice anything while walking around doing stuff. On the other hand, I was sitting on my bed when the Mineral, VA quake hit and the whole wall facing me was shuddering intensely for 15 seconds and I certainly felt that. I kept a cup of water next to my computer or bed for the next several days and several times saw the water quiver and then, soon, there was news of an aftershock. I saw 4.1 on the news at 6 pm, so wonder if the 5.1 is more or less accurate.
At another site people are discussing whether the earth’s rotation is slowing slightly and whether it will cause severe earthquakes in the next year.

Yes, local geography and the soils can make a huge difference. That’s part of the reason New Madrid is so dangerous and can create damage over a huge area.
