A man arrested Friday for breaking into a home on the 400 block of FM 1413 in Dayton allegedly hid in a closet for hours while the family went about their normal activities, according to an account from the homeowner and corroborated by the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. "We were in the house having fun, cooking and eating, and had no idea a stranger was in my son's closet," said Tara Trevino-Pasket. "My son is now afraid to sleep in his own bedroom."...Based on the information the suspect provided at the jail, he is 59 years old and has a Houston address. The sheriff's office jail roster also describes him as a black male, 5-foot, 11-inches tall, and 120 pounds, and lists Puerto Rice as his place of birth...As of Tuesday, the suspect remains in jail, though the sheriff's office is still uncertain if the name he provided is authentic or an alias.

I'm thinking the same thing. If anyone gets anywhere near the house my dog raises hell. And he has different barks for different occasions.
The dog doesn't have to be vicious; just provide a warning. This is how dogs serve us in return for the love and care we give them, and they're happy to do it.

A dog would likely have smelled the sweat dripping from the perp as the perp hid in the closet, and set off the alarm.

Familiar with that area of Liberty Co. He probably picked one of the only households in the area without a gun
