Read that passage, and think about what that is actually saying.
To paraphrase it in order to highlight the insanity of it, I would put it in a different setting to make the point; that is, the police talking to a homeowner near the Mexican border who has had his property despoiled and house burgled by illegals:
POLICE OFFICER TO HOMEOWNER: "Those coming over the border from Mexico - who are, generally speaking, the poor and needy — are no longer able to enter your house through the front door because you put a bar and lock on it, they’ll keep making their way in through the back windows...so you should just leave your front door open."
It is liberal in nature, of course, that mindset, but dwell on the absolute absurdity of it. It is staggering.
I expect this attitude from the leadership of weak European countries, but there are many in this country who feel the same way, and that is even more disturbing to me.

That was what astonished me...that is as close to hearing in real spoken language what they really think.

The only time European countries stop invasions from their enemies, is when they are armed. Otherwise, they will let them in freely.

Some due to intermarriage and obliteration of the original culture, And some due to, well, murder and pillage by the invasive horde.
