It has been formally announced this 27th day of November in the year 2017 that a British royal - Prince Henry of Wales (known to drinking buddies as Prince Harry) - is marrying an American divorcée.

The last time this happened - in 1936 when King Edward VIII decided to wed American socialite Wallis Simpson — it triggered a crisis inside Windsor Castle.

For one thing, Simpson was about to divorce for the second time. Also, she was from Baltimore.

And I think that at some point down the heir position, they even lose their Palace-provided Protection Guards. Didn’t Charles really tick off his brother Andrew by yanking paid-for royal protection for Beatrice and Eugenie? I wonder if he will change the rules back again so son Harry will continue to receive $protection..

Montreal would be the last place royalty would settle in Canada. Meghan does have some experience living in Toronto however since her show Suits is filmed there.

Good for Harry and Meghan!

They seem genuinely happy together and I wish them the best!

Idiot reporter

Harry would never be king so he wouldn’t have to worry about abdicating.

Plus the marriage of Edward and Wallis lasted a very long time

Kaiser Wilhem I married one of Queen Victoria’s daughters, so the queen was Wilhelm II’s aunt.

For what it’s worth, I would not give my children approval to marry into that family. This woman could do a lot better.

Harry's parent's are serial adulterers who were basically developmentally disabled. The family is inbred and thoroughly discreditable. This woman could do a lot better than marrying into that family of losers.

I can't see why any American would consider that.

The British commemorative postage stamp of Edward VIII shows the crown a few inches above his head. (Today, five centimeters).

Your opinion.

They take it very seriously.

Humans are ritual loving creatures and where none exist we will invent them.

The crisis wasn't because of who he wed, it was because he was a frickin' Nazi sympathizer.

It’s cause you can’t beat being a princess.

Amazed that I have to bring up the obvious.

You can make yourself more of a princess than some imaginary fool. Remember, we fought a war to rid ourselves of these people.

Both. A princess by marriage. Once you marry a British prince, you are automatically a princess by marriage.

She becomes a duchess if the Queen grants Harry a dukedom, and she would be a duchess.

Damn. How old is she? Not exactly a great track record.

A lot of men's brains melt when they see a set of fake boobs.

Personally, the women I have met that had fake ones were all batsh!t crazy.
