42 MPH, they had to be awesome.
Hear hear, completely lost interest when they went to these silly formula one water skimming machines, no grace or elegance involved anymore. I remember in the 80’s getting off work at 11 pm and rushing home to stay up all night watching the live broadcast of the America’s Cup from down under. The winged keel was a real innovation and that was controversial at the time.
At 12 it was exhilirating.
