The Alabama Republican Party this week signaled it remains firmly behind Moore.
The state party steering committee issued a statement that the allegations against Moore, which were first reported by The Washington Post, are false.
The committee stated it found these allegations to be lies, slander, deceit and the politics of personal destruction that have been used time and time again to destroy lives and win political campaigns.
Moores wife of more than three decades, Kayla Moore, declared at a press conference in Montgomery that her husband would not drop out of the race.
He will not step down. He will not stop fighting for the people of Alabama, she said.
She said the negative media coverage of Moore has come mostly from outside of the state.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) on Friday said she would vote for Moore despite the allegations. We need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on things like the Supreme Court justices, other appointments the Senate has to confirm and make major decisions, she said.
One senior Republican senator on Thursday warned that voting to expel Moore would be a mistake, given that the voters of Alabama are already aware of the allegations against him.
Who are we to expel someone who is duly elected by the voters? It raises constitutional issues, the lawmaker said.

If Moore makes it through the election, the interesting thing is that he will owe nobody nothin’, except for the people in his district who stood by him when no one else did.
Ivey alone has the power to postpone or cancel this Special Election. She says she wants to elect a Republican, but her inaction may very well elect a Democrat. Somebody needs to sit her down and talk reality/pragmatic politics.
Spoken like a true, surrender monkey.
Yeah, because the U.S. Senate is NOT supposed to be choosing its own members!!
There have been several interesting posts today about why the Left has thrown Bill Clinton and Al Franken under the bus. It was so they could establish bipartisan high ground on sexual matters so they could attack Republicans like Moore and Trump.
While many conservatives see through this ploy all races come down to winning 51% of the 20% of the unaffiliated electorate. These people vote based on what they heard last or because the candidate has great hair. So, it remains to be seen if the sacrifice of Franken and Clinton will pay off in the end.
Yes, but it will be the whole Republican party in Alabama that he owes his allegiance to. They stood by him. He will be a senator for the whole state.
A smell fear in the elite establishment.
It smells like victory!
What inaction?
She’s going to vote for Moore and said so
Over 3 weeks to go until the election...and 3 weeks is a lifetime in politics.
“A smell” should be “I smell”
Imagine permitting delayed elections for every October Surprise.. and it would happen with this precedent.
Exactly! I haven’t always been his biggest fan but I want to see him win this almost as much as I wanted Trump to win - basically to raise a middle finger to the establishment elites, who I am growing to hate with a passion.
I think he will vote for most if not all of Trump’s legislation but I don’t care because I am absolutely, positively 100% sure he will never vote for anything because Mitch McConnell told him to.
yes but........ will there be enough women put off by the allegations to not vote or to vote democrat?
Women operate by consensus. Is there an anti Moore consensus among Alabama women?

It also costs them nothing. Bill is a fossil and Franken isn’t going anywhere.
Don’t know.
The establishment media is not telling us. They are full out to gut Moore.
AL Gov. Kay Ivey Still Supports Moore because of the Supreme Court

Her vote for Moore is a great sign of loyalty, but it wont make any difference if Jones wins. Based on the latest polls, it might be a wiser choice to postpone or cancel the Special Election and then participate in the effort to keep the seat Republican no matter who that Republican is. Maintaining the status quo may very well give Chucky Schumer another vote in the Senate.
Senate GOPe running out of options to stop Moore
Leave it up to the voters of Alabama. It’s the Democrats that don’t trust theirs.
House Democrats wouldn’t even expel former Federal Judge Alcee Hastings from the House after he was elected. He had just been impeached in the Senate and kicked off the Federal bench for accepting bribes from defendants.
