I agree that there are times when it’s necessary. I would like to see the former draftees make up the boards. You men understand whether or not the cause is worth it. Sure, there would be plenty of, “I went, you should too.” But there might be plenty of men saying, “This War” is not worth the price of these young men.

Congress was supposed to do that. But we cannot count on them anymore.

I served with many draftees and it really wasn’t a big deal to us. We did not volunteer but we knew the rules of the game. Most of the people I served with draftee or not did not want the people who were rioting in the street with us. We didn’t need to listen to that horsesh!t. Of course we never dreamed one of them would be elected president either....go figure!!!
