A trophy fee for an elephant can run upwards of $50,000 dollars. The safari and taxidermy can run another $50,000-100,000. A hunter gets the satisfaction a very dangerous hunt with a renewable resource. What is so wrong about that?

Did you know the meat goes to local villages? It is no different than deer hunting and donating the meat to a food pantry.

The United States has listed African elephants under the federal Endangered Species Act, and hunting trophies can only be imported if the federal government finds that killing them positively enhances the survival of the species. How can one of the most corrupt countries on earth possibly be managing its elephant population in a sustainable manner ? Especially given that government officials been involved in both poaching of elephants and illegal export of ivory tusks.
