WASHINGTON - The internal watchdog at the U.S. Justice Department said on Wednesday he hopes to complete his review by early spring into whether the Federal Bureau of Investigation erred when it announced it was reopening its investigation into Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's emails ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
"We have interviewed dozens of people. We are not at the 100 level yet, but we're in the dozens range. We've reviewed about 1.2 million records in the course of the investigation," Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said, in testimony before a U.S. House of Representatives panel.
"We are aiming to release the report in late winter/early spring, so hopefully in that March-April time period."
After a deluge of congressional requests, Horowitz's office earlier this year announced it would review the pre-election decision-making at the FBI.

There are an awful lot of useless bureaucrats in DC but I can’t think of any more useless than IG’s. They are just like the TV commercial - “Oh! We don’t fix anything. We just monitor.” Termite inspectors, bank security, dentists etc. Add to that IG’s!!!! There is at least one for every stinkin’ agency in DC in addition to their staff and pretty soon you’re talking about real money! Nothing but WASTED MONEY! What has any agency IG ever accomplished for the taxpayer?

I am so glad someone other than myself remembers this. That was a friend of obozo’s that Walpin went up against and that just wouldn’t do. I didn’t mention him in my post as I have done so numerous times in the past when I’ve given my opinion of IG’s here to “yawn, who cares?” Just never had any responses from FR. I must have forgotten that he died last year... All death is sad (most of the time but we can exclude some LOL), it’s extra sad when a life is snuffed out due to the negligence of others.
