President Trump is hearing crickets from a trio of UCLA basketball players, despite his successful full-court press to get China to drop shoplifting charges against them.
The three players, LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley, were arrested after being accused of stealing designer sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store next to the teams hotel in Hangzhou. Trump, while on a tour of Asia, urged his Chinese counterpart to let them go, and may have been looking for some credit Wednesday.
*snip*
Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail! the president tweeted.
During his visit to Bejing last week, Fox News confirmed that Trump personally asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help resolve the case.
Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott, the leader of the western U.S. collegiate athletic conference, said that the matter had been resolved to the satisfaction of the Chinese authorities.
The three players arrived at Los Angeles International airport late Tuesday afternoon, while the rest of the team returned to the U.S. on Saturday.

They won’t.
LiAngelo and Jalen - cute
Headline at 11
Trumps face is no longer orange but turning blue!
The little pukes should’ve gotten the same treatment as any Chinese citizen would.
Hmmm, are they African American?
Ain’t gonna happen.
They dindunuffin wrong.
Today’s Gospel:
Lk 17:11-19
As Jesus continued his journey to Jerusalem,
he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him.
They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying,
“Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!”
And when he saw them, he said,
“Go show yourselves to the priests.”
As they were going they were cleansed.
And one of them, realizing he had been healed,
returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;
and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.
He was a Samaritan.
Jesus said in reply,
“Ten were cleansed, were they not?
Where are the other nine?
Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?”
Then he said to him, “Stand up and go;
your faith has saved you.”
President Trump should have left himself the option of returning them at any time.
Ingrates and buffoons. He should have left them there.
Should have left them there.
They won’t, and i think President Trump KNEW that is how it would develop!
Their arrogance and ignorance was already on full display when they committed the crime in the host country. By working for their release, and then noticing publicly that they have not said even the merest of “thank yous”, President Trump has also shown them to be ungrateful, boorish, obnoxious, little brats.
I’m sure that when they don’t make the cut for the NBA, they will reap the rewards of all that hard work they did studying, and go on to be successful, lucrative contributors to society in a non-athletic career...
I’m sure of it.
It’ll happen when UCLA wins the national championship and they visit the WH for a celebration
What?? Neither will happen before hell freezes over?
Never mind.
Well, now they don’t have to. Maybe they were writing cards.
Maybe inappropriate to say, but I will say this. These guys probably have been coddled and catered to all their lives, due to their athletic ability.
This incident would show them, yet again, that there are no consequences to them for behaviors which get the rest of us in trouble.
I wish he’d left them.
It would take men of character to swallow their pride, admit their extremely poor behavior, and thank the man who made their return to the USA possible. However, we already know these are not men of character, so their lack of humility and gratitude does not surprise us.
It must have been difficult for the Chinese authorities to find a few 6.5+ black guys.
Can he send them back?
