Scientists for the first time have tried editing a gene inside the body in a bold attempt to permanently change a persons DNA to cure a disease.
The experiment was done Monday in California on 44-year-old Brian Madeux. Through an IV, he received billions of copies of a corrective gene and a genetic tool to cut his DNA in a precise spot.
Its kind of humbling to be the first to test this, said Madeux, who has a metabolic disease called Hunter syndrome. Im willing to take that risk. Hopefully it will help me and other people.
Signs of whether its working may come in a month; tests will show for sure in three months.
If its successful, it could give a major boost to the fledgling field of gene therapy . Scientists have edited peoples genes before, altering cells in the lab that are then returned to patients. There also are gene therapies that dont involve editing DNA.
But these methods can only be used for a few types of diseases. Some give results that may not last. Some others supply a new gene like a spare part, but cant control where it inserts in the DNA, possibly causing a new problem like cancer.

What could possibly go wrong?.............................
Hopefully it will help him, though I dont know what HS is.
Have you ever taken that test yourself, Mr. Deckard?
Everything. I'm wondering how far we are from blended species....humans with some gorilla DNA for strength etc. I wonder if there's some secret research along those lines going on already.
Most likely....................very secret...................Planet of the Apes very secret.................
Hunter syndrome, or mucopolysaccharidosis II (MPS II), is a lysosomal storage disease caused by a deficient (or absent) enzyme, iduronate-2-sulfatase (I2S).[1][2] The accumulated substrates in Hunter syndrome are heparan sulfate and dermatan sulfate.[3] The syndrome has X-linked recessive inheritance.[3]
Thank you thats much clearer now...
That is the goal. The left wants every organism on planet earth to be the same.
I can remember this being talked about in the 1970’s...and it was directed at Downs Syndrome.
I’m not a biologist nor do I play one on TV, but how does injecting billions of genes affect trillions of cells in the human body? How do they even get into the cell? And if all this is possible, is it possible to cure the defective gene that causes liberalism?
Much more lucrative to use steroids. I’m sure there’s a black market.
There’s a short video at source that explains that...sort of.
GMO people.
Will it be permissible to boycott GMO people in dating, marriage, insurance, and employment?
That was the most horrifying and gruesome movie scene I had ever seen when it came out. And it still ranks right up there!
Google "Human Chimera Research" for some real scary stuff!
