A licensed gun owner in the uber-lefty city of Austin, Texas, used his Glock 43 to stop a sexual assault in progress while out on an early morning hike.

Hiking and biking trails have become targets for attacks, several have occurred along a trail I frequent with my kids and dogs, and it is disturbing.
5:30am It’s dark. What was she doing alone? Away from the grid?
I’d like to see the saved victim in Congress testifying “Based on your gun law, Congressman it sounds like you want me to be raped. Why is that, Congressman?”

Boston Globe: It’s Time To Consider Gun Confiscation - November 14, 2017
Well, if theres one thing we can say about this Boston Globe op-ed, its honest. I dont mean honest regarding facts or anything, but honest in detailing what gun control advocates really, really want: confiscation. Trouble is, its not clear the “something” Democrats typically demand
It’s possible she was running. That wouldn’t be an unusual time for a jog before work. Kind of dangerous, though (obviously!) to be out there alone in a remote place in the dark.
The ccw guy was running at that time so why wouldnt she be running? Women can do everything men can do. We are all equal.
“5:30am Its dark. What was she doing alone? Away from the grid?”
Dumb democrat living in Austin.
Her mistake wasn't time or whether she was alone. Her mistake was not being armed.
“Its possible she was running. That wouldnt be an unusual time for a jog before work. Kind of dangerous, though (obviously!) to be out there alone in a remote place in the dark.”
Bra holster or fanny pack.
“The ccw guy was running at that time so why wouldnt she be running? Women can do everything men can do. We are all equal.”
Men and women dont get raped equally madam.
This is the one where the victim got between the good guy and the gun allowing him to escape. Did they ever decide if she was being spastic or if it was on purpose?
I don’t understand your comment. I am a woman, too (and ran 6 miles yesterday). Women are targeted by men/ predators, though, where men are not. A guy might be robbed but he’s not likely to be raped. Women are generally smaller than men so can be physically overcome. Because of testosterone and other physical attributes, men have stronger upper bodies, too. I would not say we are all equal. Women certainly have many strengths but physically, we are usually going to lose in a one-on-one.
Maybe after CWII we will have cleaned up enough so that law abiding citizens need not fear any place, at any hour. Back in the day this perp would be crow chow.
Tell me about it. Who could Taylor Swift fight off with those arms:
There may have been a missing < /sarc > tag.
We are not equal in many ways. Men are stronger, faster, more aggressive than women. That’s just fact. I was allowed to walk home from school (long ways), but my sisters weren’t. It’s common sense.
We are equally free, and there’s a myriad of things which women are better at than men, so men aren’t equal either. I wish people would quit the “we’re all the same” crap, and embrace our differences that when brought together the right way, can make great things happen.
A naive liberal taking an early morning run?
I know of others.
I believe FreedomNotSafety’s comment was sarcasm, yes?
I hope so but I have heard even more preposterous statements so you never know.
