I would understand 50 days without power, but can’t understand why Puerto Rico is such a mess. Its like a larger Detroit.

At last....a way to keep the beer cold.

If it was up north and winter, you'd understand...but Puerto Rico...just an inconvenience.

Absolutely great news!!! Now....Puerto Rican natives, etc., you have got a great Governor, a great POTUS, Trump. Dump your “Communist Nutcase” Democrat Party Mayor of San Juan, and the entire Useless” Democrat Party, that allowed PR to get so run down, ...and, work to make Puerto Rico the “Golden Gem” of the Caribbean. Read my lips, folks...there is not such thing as a free lunch!!!

If You want to stay and be like Cuba & Venezuela, fine, live your lives that way. But, if you want to kick butt...make Puerto Rico grow and prosper...get going and move forward. You are hard working loyal Americans...act like it. Tourism & business growth...make it happen. Get rid of the Democrat Party vermin that has held your magnificent island home, back for ages, far from what it should really be. WAKE UP!!! Make Puerto Rico & America great again!!!

Cuba & Venezuela....NO, Puerto Rico & the USA....Yes!!!

Glad they got their power back.

What makes ME sad is that, life in P.R. has changed so much from when I was a kid. Everybody lived in their own homes, whatever the conditions, rich, poor, whatever. Now, people are living in huge apartment complexes and I’m pretty sure that being “herded” into that kind of condition takes away pride from a lot of people’s lives.

But, that’s what P.R. has been turned into. At least in the cities and “pueblos”. I still remember living poorly with my grandparents, but there was a sense of pride and independence. The world changes, life changes, but not always for the better.

Maybe someday, Puerto Rico can regain the pride as I remember it, but it will take making a lot of changes, starting with removing the life-destroying and pride-destroying liberalism/socialism.

We've been through many power outages here in our part of Connecticut (mostly due to snow and ice storms), but 50+ days w/o power!! I couldn't even imagine.

Great video, thanks for posting it. I'm happy for you and your family. :-)

I spoke with my son again a few days ago. He is in Guaynabo. They had electricity briefly, then it went out again, but now it is back. Meanwhile I had discovered a simple but exciting light source for people living without electricity. I presume there are rural parts of PR where people may not have electricity regularly in “normal” times. Here is the email and links I sent to him.

Here is some of the material on Liters of Light I told you about. I imagine that if you put a row or rows of them in roof panels, it would light up a greenhouse. You could use green ones for subdued lighting in bedrooms. I imaging that liter and 2 liter bottles are probably easier to come by these days than sheets of glass. The first article on the inventor and his invention give instructions on chlorine amount to use in water to avoid algae, and how to glue it in the roof hole. He originally drilled through rounded clay tiles, but many are doing this through tin roofs. When the article was written in 2013 the idea had already spread to 17 countries and the Philippines had 140,000 houses with installations. Also the article said they are being used for hydroponic farming. Next is the link to shipping container homes. More on electricity probably Wednesday.

Many images of liters of light in action. https://www.google.com/search?newwindow=1&safe=off&biw=1600&bih=794&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=6cIKWsGlEsbMmAGNgrNw&q=images+liters+of+light&oq=images+liters+of+light&gs_l=psy-ab.12...153516.173396.0.179909.55.40.1.0.0.0.235.4620.12j24j3.39.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..21.22.2433...0j0i67k1j0i10i67k1j0i10i30k1j0i5i30k1j0i30k1j0i13k1j0i8i13i30k1.0.3VFLZ_tzG64#imgrc=nzT15E-UPUIZBM:
