Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley signaled this week he wont adhere to a strict blue-slip policy for judicial nominees, clearing the path for Republicans to install some of President Trumps picks over the objections of home-state Democrats.
Mr. Grassley said the blue-slip tradition was intended to make sure the president consults with senators about judicial picks from their states, but wasnt intended to give those same senators an absolute veto.
A senator cant use a blue slip to block a nominee because its not the person the senator wouldve picked. The president gets to nominate judges, Mr. Grassley said on the chamber floor Monday.

Then we are left to wonder why it is still in place a year after the election. Those EOs can be over ruled but Congress has to put up or shut up. The way it works is if the opo party likes it they keep it.
....and quit the stupid “30 hour” rule that slows down the process.
