For more than 30 years, the Podesta name was gold in Washington.
Tony Podesta was a respected lobbyist and a fundraiser for Democratic candidates. His younger brother, John, served as Bill Clintons White House chief of staff and as senior counselor to Barack Obama. Together, they were the most powerful brother act in liberal politics since the Kennedys.

Under the Washington Post banner it says “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” If that is the case, this article is another nail in the coffin.

I didn’t get to far into this puff piece before I was suppressing the need to hurl.
I found reading the comments much more informative and entertaining, as well as effective nauseum relief.
In our personal life (wife and mine) we still have friends and family who still refuse the red pill.

I almost hurled as I read this typical WashPo hit piece. “He (Tony) wears red Prada loafers” I wanted to barf. It’s a shame to have witnessed WashPo fall from grace to become such a biased, lying, rag. Thank GOD Hillary lost and we are beginning to witness the beginning of the end of the “progressive” ideology.

OK, lets try to figure this out! If a Republican eats an apple, he is mundane, self-centered, greedy, and is destroying the planet! If a Democrat eats an apple, he is self-sufficient, consuming good nutrition, health conscious, and is an overall good guy.
If a Republican drives his own car, he is an elitist, has inter-social personal problems, has no thought for the future, or sense of responsibility, is selfish, and is destroying the planet. If a Democrat drives his own car, he is self-sufficient, identifies with the common man, is trustworthy and brave.
If a Republican (Paul Manafort) is paid for certain dealings with certain Ukrainians, he is a double-dealing, self-serving, un-American, greedy rat! But, if a Democrat (Tony Podesta) has the EXACT SAME dealings, with the EXACT SAME Ukrainians, for the EXACT SAME remuneration, he is an intelligent, wonderful, loving, giving man, who is helping the planet become a better place for all!
This is typical WaPo objectivity and judgment! Hate for all Republicans (no matter what good they do) and love for all Democrats (no matter what bad they do).

I wonder if it is necessary for Wapo to mention, in the Style section, that they hired John P as a columnist post election and now write this exculpatory puff piece? Eric Wemple where are u? The NYT did the same thing but then they did not pay him. And really, two bros do not collude to work K street when one is a lobbyist and the other an inside Clinton politico? Nope just committed to democratic values. No foul just a coincidence and legal and also the way it works in DC. This is hagiography and WaPo is incapable of realizing it. Sad, as Trump would say & while I dislike him as much as this self serving pablum, his lies are transparent. This article is a travesty of truth to power in politics.

dogway: I dearly wanted to give you a “thumbs up” but your unnecessary swipe at President Trump stopped me. This article was NOT about President Trump. But, since you changed the topic, President Trump has saved everyone, and our children and grandchildren, from the EVIL of the “Paris Accords.”
I can NEVER thank Trump enough for getting us out of this vile instrument that would have turned my grandchildren into ECONOMIC SLAVES to China, India, Brazil, and the entire global marketplace, with NO WAY to extricate themselves. To say it would have been the end of America is not too strong a statement. And, I had NO CLUE until Trump did it!
Also, for 8 years, our economy was STAGNANT (due to the wrongheaded policies of the community organizer) and we ALL suffered. Yet, the “verbal assassins” who are committed to destroying President Trump are GETTING RICH on his policies; that makes them HYPOCRITES (if they don’t donate their 401k increases to the federal treasury, which they will never do). To ignore the GOOD that Trump is doing, is unfair and will hurt us in the long run.

Wow. What a cottony soft, baby fresh puff piece this story is. Like a lone puffy cloud in a crisp, clear blue sky, kind of puffy. Like cotton candy kind of puffy. Like, Puff-Daddy kind of puffy.
Help me out here........

Amazing to contrast the fawning take on the posestas vs the hysterical conspiratorial account of any republican. And yet the accusations are the same. Your double standard is as abhorent as it is apparent.

One way to hide the corruption is to shut it all down. Will be hard to get any documents now.

Small loss.
They’ll just start another business....and destroy the records from the existing one.
Lock ‘em up!
The Vegas stuff at Mandalay will take forever to investigate. First place to start is who owns the floors above the 32’nd,where were they and when.
Paddock has a history that has been hit with disinformation for some time now, vested interests don’t want the real truth about him to come out.

goods stuff at link above from someone who actually knew paddock.
The article is a nothing burger.
WaPo is a nothingburger, with Hillary pickles and Podesta sauce.
Rise and fall? It will only be a fall if the Podesta brothers are arrested. Otherwise, they’ll just wait awhile, then open up shop again. And then it’s back to business as usual.
