This obstructionism is unprecedented in American history. The question is, what are Mitch McConnell and the other alleged leaders of the Republican majority going to do about it?
Like many others, I have just about come to the conclusion that Congressional Republicans are worthless. Time is running out for McConnell and his colleagues to show us that our votes and our financial support for Republicans havent been wasted. And please: dont lecture us on the hallowed traditions of the Senate. Those traditions have been blasted to smithereens by the Democrats. This is a war, Senator McConnell, and if you are not interested in fighting it, then we need to find someone who is.
Despite being in office for nearly a year, President Trump has been unable to staff his administration. In the early days, he was slow to make nominationsnot surprisingly, given that he wasnt surrounded by a cadre of former officials and government hangers-on. But that is no longer true. Now, the problem is that Senate Democrats are stalling Trumps nominees. In one agency after another, they are carrying obstructionism to unprecedented lengths.
Take, for example, the Department of the Interior. Secretary Ryan Zinke has written a letter to Democrat Dick Durbin protesting the Democrats blockade of nominees to his department:
Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke says Senate Democrats are holding the departments nominees hostage to a political agenda that includes opposition to his review of presidentially designated monuments.
But it is the hostage situation that is taking place all across the federal bureaucracy. The Democrats consider federal agencies to be their rightful property, and they have no intention of allowing a Republican president to exercise the constitutional powers of his office.

He will buy the Trump obstructing Dems a round of drinks.
Celebrate...
McConnell IS the obstructionist
Nothing. Both Parties are simply waiting out President Trump and then they will get back to business as usual.
Nothing.
He will do nothing in my opinion. He’s more worried about the non-establishment types who are winning elections.
When the TURDle dies, he should be buried in Idaho, so we can all piss on his grave.
The blockade, the hatred for Pres. Trump,
and the anti-conservative attacks with new fake dossiers,
is FROM McConnell, who also supported the IRS Atrocity.
NOT ONE OF THE GOP CARES, instead they elected
obstructionists Ryan and McConnell, and have gotten
EXACTLY what they planned.
The Turtle will likely do NOTHING. He leads the GOPe arm of the UniParty.
Unless it’s in the best interest of the UniParty, that nasty old stinky carcass will do NOTHING. They have done NOTHING so far, doing NOTHING now and won’t do anything in the future. They’re just a huge NOTHING burger....a really big NOTHING burger at that. They lied to their constituency and the American People and would trade both the House and Senate back to the RAT side of the UniParty if it would keep them in power, money and perks. They’re there primarily for themselves....and, of course, the UniParty.
The “unwashed masses” (that’d be us) can go piss up a rope as far as they’re concerned.
Yertle the Turtle would say you have “excessive expectations”, Hojczyk.
Its the Roman senate.
LMAO!
He will help them.
>Nothing. Both Parties are simply waiting out President Trump and then they will get back to business as usual.
There will never be business as usual again. There’re be a lot of violence against the political class and complete loss of faith in our system. If you can’t vote to change it then there’s no point to voting.
It’s the Republican obstructionism that is the true disgrace. From the Democrats it is largely to be expected.
Ditch is the Dark Overlord of about 40 GOPee Senators, any one of whom is willing to step into the breech should Juan or another DitchBot fail to Stop Trump (and the American People).
Kentuckians must wonder what they did in 1984 in bringing forth this awful McConnell. What a disappointment for so long! It started with his undermining of South Africa the first year he was in office.
‘He will buy the Trump obstructing Dems a round of drinks.’
+1
And use it to drink to their good health and long life.
Nothing is my guess.
Ditto.
That horse can’t be put back in the barn. We will NEVER trust the GOP / establishment again and NEVER vote for any of them again.
