Republicans are exploring ways to get embattled Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore’s name off the ballot, including floating the possibility of changing the date of next month’s special election in the wake of years-old allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore.

Some party members are reportedly considering getting Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) to move the date of the Dec. 12 special election to early next year, according to The New York Times. Based on Alabama law, it’s too late to remove Moore’s name from the ballot this close to Election Day.

Moore, a former state Supreme Court chief justice, is facing wide backlash over allegations of inappropriate sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old girl in 1979 when he was 32 years old

Anybody who questions how evil the US govt is, needs to rethink it.

If he is guilty, it sounds like he gave it up a long time ago.

He should be given a lefty medal for being rehabilitated without going the Carlos Danger route.

When I was in may late 20’s a mom and friend tried to get me to date her 16 year old daughter. That was legal age in NC. Being from Virginia I didn’t know that was their law. I declined, but she was a beautiful girl.

Almost all would settle into Florida? If so we ‘ll lose that state I would think. The US is under attack.

A little history here: remember when Democratic Senators refused to walk across the hall and read the allegations about Bill Clinton’s behavior? They all stood together and refused to go along. Now we have Republicans ready to throw Moore overboard WITHOUT real evidence, so far. That’s the difference between the parties. The Republicans could not decide on what to order for a pizza.

Delay the special. Put Sessions back in the Senate. Get hm out of Justice. This is no different than what the Dems did with Torecelli and Lautenburg.

The GOP-e doesn't want the Alabama voters to decide who represents them. The GOP-e wants to make that decision for the people of Alabama. The voters should tell the republican party to drag their ass. They don't need or want your help.

No.

Staggeringly bad precedent.

Elections MUST NOT be rescheduled for the convenience of replacing candidates. The party is not up for election, the candidate is.

Reschedule _one_ election just because the party is embarrassed by the candidate, and you’ll soon find permanent office-holding with perpetually-delayed votes.
Baaaaaaaaaaad mojo.

“I think I am done voting. Pointless. Let’s go down the rat hole. F it.”

That is exactly what the GOPe wants you to do.

If Governor Ivey changes the date of the election, her political career will be kaput.
