Tom Kean Jr. on Thursday said he'd support an increase in the state's minimum wage in exchange for a middle class tax cut.

And I'll agree to abolish the death penalty if liberals will agree to ban abortions.

Let’s end the constant squabbling over minimum pay increases that are constantly asked for. Just make a law to raise everyone making less than $100 per hour, to $50 an hour. That’ll be fair, right? Half way up, half way down. Aren’t trade-offs the way to go?

The minimum wage in New Jersey is practically irrelevant. The cost of living is so high that only a tiny number of workers actually get paid so little. An employer who pays the minimum wage is likely to get only paroled felons applying for a job.

Maybe I’m missing something, but don’t the donkeys control both houses of the legislature by a fair bit?

Phil Murphy wants to have a millionaires tax increase?

Murphy’s position at Goldman Sachs when the firm had its IPO made his net worth top $50 million, or if similar to others there, a good deal more. By one estimate, reported in Der Spiegel in 2009, his wealth after leaving the firm was in the range of several hundred million dollars.

Murphy moved to Middletown Township, New Jersey in the late 1990s.[24] He and his family live in a riverside estate with a $200,000 annual property tax bill.[25] Murphy also owns homes in Berlin and in Italy.[26]

In 2016 Murphy released five years’ worth of federal tax returns: for 2014 he earned about $6 million, paid about $2 million in taxes for an effective tax rate of 34 percent, and directly or indirectly donated 24 percent of his income to charity. The returns for the other years showed effective tax rates ranging between 32 and 39 percent. Murphy’s charitable donations during these five years averaged about $980,000 a year. Due to his wealth and the complicated nature of his holdings, his federal tax filings have been known to exceed 300 pages in length.

And he wants to have a tax increase? He’s either dumber than dirt or he’s got an angle. Nobody that wealthy givs it away without kicking and screaming.

"stopped short of agreeing to the $15 per hour sought by Murphy"

Wow. Corslime Jr. REALLY hates the working class that he's that anxious to eliminate scores of their jobs.

TRENTON -- State Senate Republican leader Tom Kean Jr. on Thursday said he'd support an increase in the state's minimum wage in exchange for a middle class tax cut.

And he said Gov.-elect Phil Murphy should dump his called-for "millionaire's tax" increase.

Doesn't really matter what he supports or doesn't support since the Republican party is pretty much irrelevant in the state now. (THANKS, Chris Christie!)

The only glimmer of hope is that a Democrat hasn't been elected to two terms as governor in the state since 1978.

"Over one-third (34 percent) of New Jerseyans earn under $15 per hour,"

(Yes, it's going to be a disaster.)
