The Senate refused to seat Roland Burris - appointed to Obama’s senate seat by Rod Blagojevich.
I probably should have qualified my statement that the Senate could try and not seat Moore. They would probably lose on appeal.

rockrr- you are most correct.

the house refused to seat Adam Clayton Powell and Powell sued. SCOTUS ruled in Powell’s favor. The house could only consider constitutional qualifications for office.
