I’m thinking his wife is Russian but maybe she’s Ukrainian. She was a Russian language translator, as I recall, that Ritter met while inspecting a site in the USSR.

There’s other interesting coincidences, including the coincidental timing of destruction of our own wmd arsenal which for some reason was proceeding behind schedule as if overwhelmed, with shipments from overseas of Russian material for reprocessing, all at the same time as equipment from Iraq’s programs was showing up in Jordanian and European ports and scrapyards, and Iraqi scientists were found in Syria, Libya, Egypt, etc.

My son’s unit, 299th Army Engineers MRB, found new Soviet bloc chemical suits during patrolling operations east of Hindaya (on the east bank of the Euphrates River whose bridge they helped capture on 4/03/2002). After conducting Ribbon Bridge construction/similar to pontoons, for lighter vehicles, 299th soldiers went out and captured hundreds of surrendering regular Iraqi soldiers as well as to find and mark Iraqi weapons bunkers.
