An immigrant who had been shielded from deportation but was sent back to Mexico has been arrested for returning to the United States for the second time this year, authorities said Wednesday.

Juan Manuel Montes, 23, was taken into custody near Calexico for illegally re-entering the United States late Monday night, the U.S. Border Patrol said in a statement.

We waste money taking care of him. We waste money deporting him. We waste money catching him at the border and we'll probably waste more money detaining him, trying him and jailing him before deporting him again. They should really consider sanctions on Mexico for allowing this to happen. Maybe when it starts to hit them in the wallet instead of us they'll rethink their position on helping people reach our borders.

Agree on sanctions against Mexico, in addition to eliminating all employment, education, birth right, and social benefits for illegal aliens.

They all go back and forth to see grandma. Locking the door behind them on Dec. 25 would solve a lot of the problem.

Throw the book at him. I am sick and tired of this invasion - what does it take to post the ACTIVE MILITARY on our border to stop this invasion? I thought the number one priority of the Fed Gov is the defense of this nation, thereby making the DOD the highest priority agency in the bureaucracy, not wealth redistribution and transformation change.

And I don't want to hear that this DREAMER, so called, is not posing a danger to the citizens of this nation - tell that to Kate Steinle's parents because I won't listen to such nonsense.

Deportees who sneak back in to the US should be deported somewhere that doesn’t have a land route back to the US.

Like Libya or Somalia.

Executions would be a better solution.

How about that island off the Brazilian coast that has those poisonous snakes?

I also agree with sanctions. There should be no automatic citizenship for babies born in the US while their parents are here illegally; and, anyone who entered the US illegally should automatically be precluded from EVER having voting rights in the US, irrespective of whether they are eventually allowed to stay or not. The Democrats would quickly lose interest in illegals if they could never become voting Democrats.

So what, this guy gets three hots and a cot for a couple days, gets deported again until he makes another try?

I guess it’s lather, rinse, repeat...until the wall is built?

Now that just can't be - the left assured us that aliens illegally entering our country wasn't a crime.

If the illegal alien in question is male, sending him back with one less testicle than when he arrived might dissuade a repeat of the offense. Send him home with a little glass jar in his lap.

was taken into custody near Calexico

I thought that the author was being funny by calling California "Calexico." Turns out there's an actual town with that name. With California's current and future ethnic demographics, it may as well be the name for the entire state.

“Deportees who sneak back in to the US should be deported somewhere that doesn’t have a land route back to the US.”

I read somewhere that when Eisenhower deported illegals, he shipped them to the southernmost port of Mexico.

Given the costs to travel back to the US border to recross, it took all the financial incentive out of the process.

We give away so much in free services these days that it’s probably no longer the case.

“Montes, who came to the United States when he was 9, has a cognitive disability that likely stems from a childhood brain injury, according to his lawyers.”

Glad he’s gone! We don’t need him getting health care on our dime. He didn’t get his “childhood brain injury” here, so there’s no reason for him to get us to “take care” of him.

“The Democrats would quickly lose interest in illegals if they could never become voting Democrats.”
Not sure that’s true, because their offspring would be citizens unless we change the law substantially to disallow them being citizens too. At some point, there would be a gaggle of RAT voters, given their propensity to “breed.” Here in CA, when you see a young Mexican mother, she always has at least two “ambulatory offspring,” and another one or possible two in a stroller.

You don't want the active military on the border anymore then you want active military acting as police.

They are very different functions and you end up ruining the military because you have to override their military training.

More border patrol with different and more aggressive rules?

Definitely.

But leave the active military out of it.

That it like taking a quarterback and putting him in as left tackle.
