Federal Subpoenas Seek Info on Carl Icahnís Role as Trump Adviser

Prosecutors are investigating whether billionaire businessman Carl Icahn pushed for a federal policy change that would have benefited one of his investments while he was serving as an adviser to President Donald Trump.

The U.S. attorney's office in Manhattan has issued subpoenas to Icahn's company and another company, CVR Energy, in which he has an 82 percent stake, both firms disclosed in regulatory filings. CVR is a publicly traded company that specializes in refining and is valued at nearly $3 billion.

The companies said they are cooperating with the subpoenas, which were first reported by Bloomberg. "The U.S. Attorney's office has not made any claims or allegations against us or Mr. Icahn," Icahn Enterprises L.P. said in its filing.

Icahn, who backed Trump during the campaign, was named a special adviser on regulation last December. He quit in August to avoid what he called "partisan bickering" about his position in the administration.

His resignation followed an investigation by CNBC into potential conflicts of interest and came just before a magazine report questioning whether he had broken any laws.

Nothing to do with alleged Russian election meddling.

Trump’s enemies are grasping for straws.

Here is how to read this. If you are not with the globalists, if you are not part of the Uniparty; they’ll destroy you.

So what this means, is that no president can get any advice from a corporate officer.

I suspect Obama did. Didn’t hear a whimper about it either.

Like heck they are.

This is the one area where President Trump may really very well be vulnerable. His prior and current business associations will be picked apart and examined under a microscope in an extremely business-suspicious environment. Icahn is slimy and borderline unethical - I hope none of that has rubbed off on the President.

What a travesty! These prosecutors are the criminals. How much longer can this tyrannical activity be allowed to go on?

When did it become illegal to lobby a candidate for office for policies that would help your business?

"So what this means, is that no Republican President can get any advice from a corporate officer."

There, fixed it.

With each passing day I become even more convinced God had a hand in Trump winning the election. How the Deep State somehow screwed up in rigging the system AND ELECTION NIGHT for Hillary’s victory is truly mind-boggling.

It’s a warning:
DO NOT TALK TO TRUMP or your life will be investigated as much as possible and destroyed if it suits the ruling class.

It’s a possible precedent:
DO NOT ADVISE ANY PRESIDENT or opponents will try to destroy you.

Presidents will only be able to get advice from DC insiders, deep state, etc. DC insiders are the opponent of everyone on the outside, and they have lots of power to destroy lives. Be careful supporting anyone who is not a Bush or Clinton or another in the favored caste of DC.

Fire them. Fire them all. Republicans in Congress should be fighting for freedom now. But maybe too many of them are lawyers with their loyalties elsewhere.
