The Air Force Academy says racial slurs posted outside the dorm rooms of five black students were written by one of those students.

I was accustomed to getting talked to like that, which is why I picked right up on it. I think it was the one thing I hated most, when I was in.
One of the Reddit guys is doing great work compiling fake hate crimes. 539 items in the list, and this one isn’t in there yet.

The blacks are running out of racists. So thy have to pinch hit.
“I do not recall him calling cadets racists. I would like to see your direct quote on that. “
Are you really so stupid and gullible to think that the idiot calling everyone out and telling them this would not be tolerated was anything BUT him calling them racists??
Don’t piss on our leg and tell us it is raining. We’re not as stupid and gullible as you.
Called it.
Recall the posts where those of us who called out the Superintendent for his pc grandstanding prior to all the facts being in were told by other Freepers that he was some kind of really good leader who really gets it. Sure.
No. Can you point a few out?
"Regardless of the circumstances under which those words were written, they were written, and that deserved to be addressed," Silveria said in a Tuesday email. "You can never over-emphasize the need for a culture of dignity and respect - and those who don't understand those concepts, aren't welcome here."
Is it "a culture of dignity and respect" to chew out people who've done nothing wrong?
He’s doubling down.
Toss him.
Of course hoaxing is not limited to race. The Rolling Stone “UVA Frathouse Gang Rape” story involved a young white woman. I have no doubt that over the years many girls have been lured, drugged or gotten drunk, and assaulted at Frathouses, and the perpetrators have gotten away with it. The complainant in the story wanted to “draw attention to the problem” and play a double role as hero: the assaulted woman with the guts to come forward; and, a fraud who sacrificed her integrity for the cause.
Obviously the hoaxers are a tiny percentage of their groups; most women, blacks, etc. are just living their lives. However there is an entire industry, especially in university ___-Studies Departments, dedicated to making young acolytes hyper conscious of past and present wrongs. Like watching a loop of the 9-11 attacks for months (or reading crime stories on FR), it gives them an unrealistic sense of urgent danger. Many of the hoaxers are attention hounds, but I suspect a fair number actually feel guilt both that they are not having the experiences they expect, and that they are not doing enough to save others. It’s a learned mental condition.
So you don’t have a direct quote. Question for you Toad, did you ever serve?
You would think that a leader would do just that, gather the facts. Insert Joe Friday here. In all honesty, the Superintendant should resign, or better yet, commit seppuku!
It's just another form of looting.
I thought it was a possible hoax also, but the Super has to check the boxes which he did. I think to read into another motives is always dangerous. Jeremiah 17:9 basically says it is almost impossible to know your own heart, so how would you know another’s unless they reveal it?

Hey bro. Thanks for your service, but we are just going to have to agree to disagree.
Of course this super has to check things. He did however, violate everything I ever learned in my professional military education courses. Before you jump in someones stuff. You gather all the facts. This dude didnt do it, and every cadet with a cell phone, recorded him, doing it exactly the opposite of the way it should be done.
Now, look at my tag line. I know scripture pretty well, so if you are going to edit the verse, do it to someone who doesnt know anything about scripture. I dont know if you did it deliberately, because I dont know your motive, but you left out the first part of the verse. This is what it really says. Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? You can get scripture to say anything you want, if you edit it. Remember Psalms 14:1b says there is no God, so make sure you always have the proper context, when quoting scripture. Who can know it? does not mean in any way, shape or form, that I cant make a value judgement, based on the words coming out of that dudes mouth. I surely did make that judgement.
As the other poster said, we are not as stupid as we might look. Having had the benefit of seeing it on video, he did everything but call them a bunch of racists, without actually saying the words.
Thanks
Mark,
The context of my use of scripture was not to say we cannot use discernment, we clearly can and should. I think you are using it judiciously. I don’t agree with you on the Super, but you may be right.
The Superintendent was, at the least, virtue signaling. Its all the rage now.
That may be. You probably are right. I look at it through the lens of unit cohesion. If he really did throw the cadets under the bus for the sake of virtue signaling, he probably should go. As you two know, racism in a multi-ethnic unit is devastating to unit cohesion, but so is a superior officer throwing his men under the bus...
