The folks behind Gillespie used a fake Trump email to hit me up for money at 5:30 PM today. I called AMEX. This was a scam to pay GOP in DC- not the RNC. Strange/.

You are not correct my FRiend!

Trump is loved by his supporters.
Love can not be bought.

Gillespie is a protege of the GOP elites.
They are not loved by Trump supporters.

From whatbI understand Trump is deeply hated in deep blue Virginia. I view VA with the same disdain I have for my California. Any state that overwhelmingly voted for 0bama twice and then for Hillary deserves misery

The best cure for a boil is to squeeze the puss out.
The never Trumpers are the puss, Gillespie among them.
Gillespie REFUSED to ask Trump to campaign for him with advice from Karl Rove and the Bushes. That sealed his fate.

And Gillespie realized his mistake way too late.

>> This is all moot to be because Trump himself lost the state of Virginia by 5 points <<

Don’t be so logical. Logic is out of place on this thread.

(I guess you’ll be flamed.)

I’m baffled as to why the Republican Party in Virginia let that POS milquetoast Gillespie run in the first place .....

It’s just a little thing called “winning the primary.”

This outcome cannot be blamed all on Rino Gillespie, although certainly he was part of the problem. Conservative candidates ran for Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General and lost by nearly the same margin. Meanwhile the Virginia house of delegates was a blood bath for republicans. They lost 13 seats and the majority!

This morning, local Virginia conservatives on radio were talking about a Republican sweep and picking up delegates in the house.

When I went to vote (in a conservative Virginia district) today, there were very few people in line. Others have told me the same. Maybe conservatives are being turned-off to the process, where it doesn’t seem to matter who they elect?

Let’s face it, the Democrats were motivated in this election and the Republicans were not.

Gillespie still got 48%, which I thought was surprising since Republicans weren't all that enthused. And of course the Democrats are motivated - they were desperate to win something and show they're still in the game.

There’s a sense that most Republicans are fighting against Trump, so they figure, “What’s the point?”

He cozied up with the GOPe and paid the price.
I've checked some GOP sites and there is a furious amount of spinning trying to blame President Trump over this. Maybe they will figure it out...eventually.

It has nothing to do with Trump. Over the past 20 years, Virginia has shifted from being a red state to a blue state, most likely due to massive increase in the number of fed bureaucrats who call it home, and the DC grifters who leech off the state.
The MSM is still stuck in the old paradigm and doesn’t get that the world has changed.

I wasn't commenting on what happened but on what President Trump "stands for". And even when the GOPe loses, President Trump makes a point of taking the opportunity to show how much he hates losers and losing.
