Yup. Expect even more gun control laws in NJ. The GOP tax bill didnt help the Republican candidate, Guadagno, one bit either. Capping the property tax deduction and eliminating all state and local tax deductions was an ice pick to the face for NJ, NY, CT, CA, etc. Also, Rep MacArthur (R-NJ) had been fighting the GOP property, state, and local tax deduction issue for weeks, but suddenly yesterday - he caved and said he would vote for the tax increase bill. Not only will his vote flip screw NJ, his timing could not have been worse for Guadagnos candidacy.

Deduction of state property and school taxes from your federal return is just a convoluted way to get taxpayers from other states to subsidize the ludicrous amounts. It is a perverse incentive to state legislators.
