Landscaping Drama at the Root of Rand Paul’s Assault? (NYT: IT'S RAND'S FAULT)
New York Times ^ | Nov 6, 2017 | NICHOLAS FANDOS, NOAH WEILAND and JONATHAN MARTIN

WASHINGTON — The violent altercation last week that left Senator Rand Paul nursing bruised lungs and broken ribs began over a landscaping dispute between the senator and his longtime next-door neighbor, according to neighbors and three Kentucky Republicans familiar with what transpired.

The incident “has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agendas,” Mr. Baker said in a statement on Monday. “It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial.”

Asked about long-leveled allegations that Mr. Paul had disregarded neighborhood regulations, Mr. Skaggs, who is also a former leader of the county Republican Party, said that the senator “certainly believes in stronger property rights than exist in America.”

Sounds like the neighbor will have plenty of time to contemplate his behavior....in a jail cell.

From the article:

Competing explanations of the origins of the drama cited stray yard clippings, newly planted saplings and unraked leaves.

The people of the New York Times are repulsive human beings. Without naming any specifics, they suggest that this was somehow caused by Paul somehow defying or ignoring community standards.

Not with the MSMLSD - if it’s a conservative/Republican it’s their fault they were attacked.

"Competing explanations of the origins of the drama cited stray yard clippings, newly planted saplings and unraked leaves."

My neighbor is a young Democrat who uses his front yard to stockpile lumber and bricks for his carpentry business, creating an eyesore. I don't think police - or The New York Times - would sympathize if I broke his ribs in protest.

"... unraked leaves...."

At this time of the year in Seattle, if unraked leaves were a fighting matter, we'd be in a full-blown civil war.

Years ago I came across a NYT article that tried to blame US for Pearl Harbor. Apparently the very first shot fired came from US trying to shoot down one of the invading Jap Zeroes and that’s what justified the carnage we received.

It would have been helpful if Rand’s people had come out with a clear, truthful, statement on the front end. Sort of like when Texas Gov. Abbott wasn’t forthcoming about the injury that hospitalized him. Never did understand why they tried to cover that one up instead of telling the truth and killing the story.

Sounds like Senator Paul, the Libertarian, refused to comply with certain homeowners association “guidelines” and was ultimately sanctioned. I don’t believe that for a second, although I COULD see an arch libertarian being a thorn in the side of the homeowners assoc.
