Speaking of sources, they usually are anonymous. There is no way for any one to independently verify a source’s assertions that a journalist claims to be true.

And if a source is made up, so are the “facts” reported. Accountability journalism, my ass. The central claims of the Russian election meddling story are still not supported by any hard evidence.

That’s just a string of unproven conjectures strung together and presented as fact. No wonder public trust in the media is at an all-time low.

CBS touts “Real News.” CNN trotted out “Facts First.” And the New York Times offered “The Truth is More Important Than Ever.”
