Look for more churches to arm and security up.
I can understand making carrying a gun in a school or government building illegal but not a privately run church.
I’ve been CCW at church for some time now. At first my wife protested, after yesterday I told her “now you know why I CCW at church”.
No reason to excerpt, just include this:

Ohio here, and my church openly encourages anyone who has a CCW to carry in church/services.
In GA you can CC in church unless the church individually opts out.
Louisiana may have that stupid law on the books, but without a doubt, it’s being totally ignored. Laws & signs tend to get ignored when lives are at stake.
My buddies’ Calif Gold Country non-denominational Church has open carry security volunteers in the parking lot and at the entrance.
They seat about 250 for each service.
Most are cops or ex cops that carry.
It’s time to arm up folks.
This is not correct for Wyoming either. In Wyoming it is unlawful to carry concealed or open in the place of worship without written permission.
Illinois, besides the legislative areas where you can’t CC, the statute allows any property owner to deny CC by posting a sign stating such.

The original TX carry law DID prohibit carry in church:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TEXAS PENAL CODE TITLE 10. OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND MORALS
CHAPTER 46.
WEAPONS
Sec. 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER.
(b) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, on or about the license holder's person:
(6) on the premises of a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship. [P.C.46.035(b)(6)]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fortunately, in 1997, the above [P.C.46.035(b)(6)] prohibition was repealed by [P.C.46.035 (i)] -- which is printed several pages below [P.C.46.035(b)(6)]:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(i) Subsections (b)(4), (b)(5), (b)(6), and (c) do not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Section 30.06.
IOW, licensed Texans may legally carry concealed in Church -- if no 30.06 sign is posted.
A legal discussion of this change -- and the TX Legislature's clumsiness in enacting it -- may be found at:
Here in Texas, I have never encountered a "30.06" sign (No concealed carry) sign in a church.
OTOH, we recently visited my "first" church (where I became a Christian, was baptized, and became a member) -- and was pleasantly surprised to see a "Licensed Concealed Handgun carriers welcomed here." sticker posted at the front door!
My wife tells me that she has visited a church with a "30.07" (No open carry") sign posted. However, church representatives were quick to point out, that,
"We welcome licensed carriers, but we we ask them to be discrete and conceal -- for social comfort of our members, and for the strategic advantage."
(IOW, was the church a "No Self Defense"zone?)
If that is, indeed, the case, then Nebraska and Louisiana are in clear violation of the Constitution's First Amendment prohibition of "laws respecting an establishment of religion".
Always CCW, always. Do I need to repeat myself?
I have extensive training in tactics and techniques -- hundreds of hours. Where I sit (not with my back to the doors), is also a consideration. I prefer right rear with an unobstructed view of foyer portals and unobstructed field of fire. If and when I act, I plan to be effective and reduce my liability -- shoot the bad guy(s), not the good guys.
Too many with little or no training think they'll be effective. "The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire (Murphy)." Professionals are predictable but the world is full of dangerous amateurs.
