Agreed. I spanked my son once when he was small. It hurt me more than him but he obeyed me then. Spanking has to be done without emotion on the parents’ part (other than the regret that it has to be done) or else it could turn into something damaging. Some children may need more spanking. Some may need less, but it’s an effective tool to teach a child that there are real boundaries in life. Better a spanking at 5 than jail at 15.
