to convince themselves that hey are justified in their unbelief- is one reason- another reason is out of pure hatred for anything to do with God- another kinda follows the ‘misery loves company’ line of thinking- the more converts they get- the stronger they feel they are justified in not believing- strength in numbers sort of thing-

It's not about you, it's about them. Probably have a guilty conscience and don't like to be reminded of the fact that they're sinners, so they try to belittle Christians or equate them with extremist muslims.

I have a theory about atheists. I think they’re always trying to convert us believers because they are secretly scared that they are wrong. So, they desire to surround themselves with people who share their erroneous beliefs. If you do something wrong and then have folks around you telling you that you didn’t do the wrong thing, eventually you’ll be safe in your delusion of rightness. I know, that’s pretty condescending of me. I think atheists are scared of being wrong.
