Wasn’t he also around during the Scalise shooting? Poor man has seen and experienced major violence this year. Leftists are out of control.

Takes along time for bone to heal with a lot of pain along the way. Every use of the upper body producing that pain, including breathing.

How is that 4th degree assault? I broke 3 ribs flying off a horse, one rib breaking in half and going through a lung.

Believe me, there is nothing about breaking 5 ribs that is anything but first degree assault.

So, anyone can nearly beat a senator to death and walk on less than 10 grand in bail?

Rand could have easily died of a punctured lung.

I say it’s attempted murder by a crazed leftist.

Charged him with a misdemeanor? Should have charged him with felony assault and had the state pull his medical licence immediately.

That’s quite an assault. I wish him a speedy recovery.

The injuries seem kind of serious, and they only charged him with a misdemeanor, plus him being a member of the medical profession. They should have made an example of him

Rand Paul recovering from 5 broken ribs after attack at Kentucky home

That is now considered "...misdemeanor fourth-degree assault with a minor injury."?

Seriously?

This really is a civil war of liberals against conservatives where the conservatives are sheep and the liberals are wolves.

Liberals are taking the antifa model to heart. Lock and load and don't leave home without it. It will take a few bodies on the ground but sooner or later they will get the message.

Conservatives are not willing targets.

misdemeanor fourth-degree assault

If a guy in a MAGA hat blindside tackled and broke the ribs of a prominent lib-Dem politician, the charge would be 1st degree assault, and major jail time would be the result.

A friend in high school was a fullback on the football team. (Catholic/JROTC high school.). He was 6’-3” and 230 lbs. Once a coach of an opposing team said to our team’s coach: “When I saw your fullback carry three of my team without a tackle I knew we would lose.”

He played OUNCE with broken ribs, didn’t say anything, then came clean and bowed out for the season. Too much pain.

This is BS. An assault resulting in such injuries, invading the Senator’s property, should be a felony...

Oh man, that’s awful! Broken ribs are so painful and they can’t cast your torso so you just have to walk around on eggshells. Five ribs? Terrible. Also inexcusable.

18 US Code 351(e) - assault on a member of Congress resulting in personal injury is a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Somebody interrupt the shuffleboard at the old people’s home and let Jeff Sessions know (unless he has recused himself from this also)

Something is not right about this story. Has a reason been given? If so, did it make any sense? Did Ryan agree to lesser charges for some reason? Is something being covered up?
