I recall years ago when my dad fell down the stairs “I’m okay - stupid! But I’m okay!!”
Several days later mom heard him huffing and puffing coming up the stairs. She took him to the doc - a few ribs broken - with one into a lung and it collapsed!
Go-getters like my dad and Rand Paul don’t let a few broken ribs slow them down! Glad they caught it so he can get the proper healing he needs.

I keep looking but see nothing that says why he attacked the Senator

An assault resulting in such injuries, invading the Senators property, should be a felony...
Yep. Things may change.
To: RitaOK
18 US Code 351(e) - assault on a member of Congress resulting in personal injury is a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
To: Mount Athos
It will take at least 6 weeks for his rips to heal and he will be in a lot of pain.

Yes, cracked ribs are very painful. With displacement, they can be fatal. The charges don’t seem appropriate.
I saw somewhere that the attacker was a ‘pain doctor’. They usually serve addicts.

The only thing I saw was that the senator was mowing the grass.

He was just outside the perimeter of the baseball field, so basically an eye witness to the shooting. I’ll tell you though, he’s been with Trump on many issues, especially the EO for healthcare.

I would agree with you, but my post specifically addressed this description of the legal distinctions among different grades of criminal charges related to assault:
... whether the perp intentionally caused "serious physical injury" as opposed to simply "physical injury."
The "intentionally" part here might make this a difficult case to prosecute if the assailant's intention was to tackle his victim and the injuries were the result of the victim falling on the lawn tractor instead of the grass. I'm just speculating here, but we'll see as more information comes out.

I think I saw Flake talking about it so maybe some Senators were there.

Takes along time for bone to heal with a lot of pain along the way. Every use of the upper body producing that pain, including breathing.
Bad enough for 1 rib to heal let alone 4 or 5 ribs.
I can just imagine how tough it is just to breath.
We hope this guy does time in jail.
To: TheConservativeParty
This is a lack of knowledge question. With such severe pain from broken ribs, how does one avoid becoming addicted to pain killers?

Wait...you expect Jeff Sessions to do something about Leftist crimes? Last I looked, he was hiding under his desk. Figuratively speaking, of course. Sessions will get around to Leftist crimes about the same time Hillary Clinton will admit to being a roaring drunk.

$2.5 Million net worth? That is pretty small for a US senator and a doctor. He must not be corrupt.
