For decades, when legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully spoke about baseball, people listened. Now, in retirement, hes not just speaking only about anymore. Yet, listening to Scully now, might be more important than ever. On Saturday night, Scully said that he would never watch another NFL game again, in response to the leagues anthem protests.

Always liked Scully. Now I like him even more.
Same here, Vin. The NFL is dead to me (and I used to wait all week for Sunday afternoon).
Vin's remarks are going to leave a mark. He's that respected. ...and deservedly so.
Our family also is skipping NFL.
Our family also is skipping NFL.
Me too, RummyFan! As my grandmother would say, “Bless his heart.”
He always expected players to respect the game, teammates, the fans and country. Did not seem too much to ask for.
And accordingly to the players actions, I too have lost respect for the game and the players. Enough!
I only watch college football. Good games, strong competition with a lot of alumni following. GO DAWGS. I’m eating southern fried chicken after yesterdays game.
In the 70s and 80s I was a Dodger fan as a kid. Enjoyed the few times I got to hear Scully.
I’ve had the NFL off since I cut cable about 4-5 years ago.
Only thing I missed were those games and the college games... then I realized last year I didn’t really miss them as much as I thought I did.
I go back to 1957 and I loved NFL and now it’s’ dead to me!
The NFL is dead to me
Same here, and the sad part about it is college and even high barely raises an I give a sh*t.
Arrogant jerks of any age are unpleasant.
Good on Vin for his stance!
I will never eat another Papa John’s pizza.
Agreed, but Ernie Harwell and Jack Buck belong in that discussion, too.
But, but, but - the Eagles game today featured a brief PSA with lots of real football players, many minorities including the bird’s Malcolm Jenkins, a prime protestor, singing the praises of our military and saying how much the players honored their service - surely that would be enough to change Vin’s opinion....
That’s going to hurt the LA teams that the NFL seems to want to force on the fans they have left.
