Many homeless have mental issues.

So what could go wrong?

Bring someone into your home and expect at least some rape, molestations, thefts, physical attacks, worse...

These political leaders are quite willing to see the populace subjected to this.

Let’s review. First they brought these people into your communities and partially destroyed them. Now they want them in your home.

It’s time for some short rope and high branches.

That’s not a policy. That’s simply a bizarre fantasy.

Amazing how we accept this from our chosen “leaders.”

most people avoid stepping on urine soaked surfaces or feces clad sidewalks.so no, we don't step "towards" the homeless...we step away, far away...

while there are circumstances where people become suddenly destitute, many many homeless are homeless due to a choice...

they don't want the confinement or rules of staying in free housing....

Why would any sane person take in a chronic inebriate (English translation = drunken bum) crack or meth head?

A ‘normal’ renter is a big enough PITA...

But then, a good Communist never sees a down side to taking **your** property.

Can’t she just Order all city employees to take 2 or 3 in to their homes?

"The city’s uptick in vagrants is tied to a general gentrification in the Bay Area, stemming from San Francisco, where artists and innovators unable to afford skyrocketing rents have migrated to Oakland.

Maybe they picked the wrong occupations for that area.

“encouraging property owners to lease apartments at more affordable rates to recently homeless individuals”

Are they homeless because they couldn’t pay their rent, or some other reason? If because they couldn’t pay their rent, what would be a more affordable rate?

Obvious question. How many has she taken in? Funny how the homeless disappeared for 8 years.

“The city’s uptick in vagrants is tied to a general gentrification in the Bay Area, stemming from San Francisco, where artists and innovators unable to afford skyrocketing rents have migrated to Oakland.”

And a lot of other East and North Bay Cities. We have had to install internet-based security cameras in an office building we have owned for 18 years in an well-known wine country city. This past week alone, we have had to call the police to evict several “transients” who were attempting to sleep on our premises. It’s not fun to have your iPhone alert you to a trespass at 2 a.m. but at least they are gone before the tenants show up and have to step over them. The cops are frustrated because recent changes to CA law makes arresting them impossible. Trespasses are now no longer misdemeanors, but rather “infractions.”

Most of us have enough problems and enough problematic relatives and friends of our own that to have to over room and board to someone else’s would be detrimental to our own survival. Yes, “Working People Matter!”
