That’s not surprising as they are in their late 80’s to 90’s by now. Some may even be 100+. My father in-law-is 94 and he joined up at 16 or 17. Can’t really remember now, but he was underage for sure.

They must mean “still residing in Britain”. My college major professor was a Spitfire pilot in the BoB, but emigrated to the USA just after the war. He is still alive and hale according to the alumni newletter I got a couple of weeks back.
