Maybe in a case like this the police should stay the hell out of the way and let the armed citizens do their work for them.

In view of that, I dont give a rats ass that the cops out there will have to have Dunkin Donuts deliver their meals, rather than them being able to leave the office and go to the drive-through.
Funny that there's a Dunkin' Donuts just east of this WalMart on Washington Ave.
I was by that WalMart earlier today. It's still closed.

I bet any of us could have found the offending fiream in 5 minutes using nothing but our noses. Not being a gun owner, I still assume a gun barrel that fired even one round smells different than an unused gun barrel. Experienced input welcome.

Color me skeptical. If you have a surveillance video of a shooting, its pretty obvious whos doing it. I do note that nobody who drew a firearm in self defense appears to have started shooting up the place, which is a recurrent myth about guns from people who dont like them.
...
I agree. And the story about all those armed law abiding citizens makes me happy.

Give me a flippin' break. This was police reviewing security camera footage
after the perp left the building.
The headline makes it sound as if the police were trying to clear the building was greeted by citizens with drawn weapons.
If so many citizens hadn't been carrying, how many more would the perp had shot? Those armed citizens most likely saved lives.

Yeah, it would have been so much easier to identify the perp if all of the other people had been lying on the floor, bleeding.

Wow, so they’re complaining about it taking a couple hours longer to look at the tapes vs the potential benefits ofsavings of many lives.
Truly pathetic.

“I was by that WalMart earlier today. It’s still closed.”
But the Dunkin’ Donuts is still open, and no doubt being heavily patronized by “overworked” policemen on break from the strenous duty of reviewing some videotapes.

So the video shows one guy firing at people and a bunch of other people holding handguns who are in defensive positions, often with other people huddled behind them. Damn, it’s going to be hard to figure who the culprit is!!

Nope
Read the article
The offending firearm was out of the store and down the road before the LEOs arrived.

I’m not going to criticize Thornton PD street cops over this. I’ve had one encounter with them while I was carrying, and it went in the most outstanding way I hoped it would. Those guys and gals are good people.

“I notice they waited until the building was safe enough to enter. In other words, they would have waited safely outside until the shooter ran out if ammo. The armed citizens inside were the ONLY first responders worth a damn.
“
Same bravery displayed by Colorado police at the Columbine massacre. Couple of hours to go in, more lives lost, then they marched all the innocent kids out at gun point withvp their hands in the air.Not the way the west was won.

That’s not what usually happens, but the media will pick it up and broadcast it.

I don't see the police remarks as complaining but simply conveying interesting facts of the investigation.
I really find it remarkable that they were able to identify the and apprehend the perp in less than a shift considering that he was not on the scene on their arrival.
They got lucky that a witness knew where the perp lived.

Leave it to the left to condemn the individuals who likely prevented a far worse death toll by saying they hampered the investigation.

It’s time for sensible donut control, with police-manned donut stations in every Walmart.
To: RightGeek
I'll bet the shooter decided to retreat in the face of a store full of armed opposition.
