The prosecutors in the Bergdahl case were asking for a 14-year prison sentence. If he was responsible for the loss of even one U.S. soldier — let alone a half-dozen or more — then why weren’t they demanding a life sentence?
He would have never lived if sent to prison.....I suspect they figured he’s got a better chance of life outside, though he’ll live always looking over his shoulder.....I have to give this some more thought but he’ll have zero protection outside on his own. I suspect some of our good soldiers know exactly what to do to make any life he has pretty miserable.
