Australia's merit based system was what disqualified me.Specifically,I was too old and didn't have a skill that was in short supply in their country.Those things,combined,was the killer.
Understandably so.
Given my age whatever benefit I might represent to the country would be a short one before I became a burden,as old folks often do,to the health system and the pension system.
Ditto for us.Young,well educated,law abiding,English speaking...that's what we want.
