I skimmed through the entire article reading the author’s musings regarding causes for high rates of STDs. Poverty seems to be the only positive correlation with increased rates. Once again “lack of access to (sexual) health care” is blamed.
While it’s true that untreated people are infectious and will spread the joy, it is not the true root of the problem.
Behavior choices based on years of the lie of “safe sex” being drummed into their heads has eliminated the concept of valuing one’s health and well being by not engaging repeatedly in casual sexual encounters.
Condoms are 85% effective against pregnancy and HIV/AIDS. According to the CDC they offer zero protection against ALL other STDs because the rest are spread by skin to skin contact.
