When the actor Kevin Spacey came out of the closet on Sunday while apologizing to actor Anthony Rapp for sexual harassment, many onlookers were aghast by the conflation.
Many accused Spacey, 58, of attempting to deflect attention from Rapp’s claim that he was 14 when Spacey picked him up, “placed him on his bed and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance.” TV host Guy Branum called the diversionary tactic a “PR smokescreen.”
Now, several news outlets are being skewered for stumbling into Spacey’s trap.
As HuffPost contributor Yashar Ali noted on Twitter, the New York Daily News, ABC News and Reuters were among the news outlets that led their coverage of the scandal with the actor’s coming out rather than the harassment allegations.

How so? Other than sexual harassment and outright rape being part of how the Hollywood culture. And then posing proudly with leading democrat candidate and officeholders.
These days who cares about whether someone is gay? Artistic professions tend to have a higher % of gays than the general populace — probably 6% instead of the normal 2%. It also points to gayness being just a break in sexual boredome for those who can get sex easily — i.e. pure perversity.
ummmm... Rapp described something far beyond “harassment” — a physical sexual assault in which 26 yr old Kevin Spacey pinned him on the bed and came down on top of him. Rapp was able to get away, but that was more than what is usually termed “harassment”.... although I think one also must accept Rapp’s account that Spacey did finally accept “no” for an answer... but still, we are talking about an adult trying to have sex with a 14 yr old, physically overpowering him....

I don’t follow Hollywood. I enjoyed him in K-Pax. Awesome film. The preponderance of pedophiles are homosexual, so this news doesn’t surprise me at all. Spacey should be castrated and imprisoned.
Amazing. I’m in total agreement with Huff Post. I do have to admit to being dense about noticing who’s gay and who’s not as it relates to celebrities. It doesn’t really interest me.

Everyone who is even remotely aware of Kevin Spacey has known he’s probably gay. The real story here is that he pretty much admits to sexually assaulting a 14 year old - and he then managed to spin it into a story about his coming out as gay.
And Liberace.........and Jim Nabors...........and Alan Sues........and Paul Lynde..........and....................
Nobody cares about homosexuals and their practices until they come along and say, “you will throw your Bible and beliefs out the window and do what we tell you to do, believe what we tell you to believe, encourage and celebrate sodomy with us....or else.
