Alan Dershowitz: Mueller Likely Hoping Manafort Charges Will Spark Chain Reaction
Fox News ^ | October 30 2017 | Alan Dershowitz

Posted on 10/30/2017 9:06:32 AM PDT by knighthawk

Alan Dershowitz analyzed what he thinks is Special Counsel Robert Mueller's grand strategy in the Russia investigation, calling it the "criminalization of political differences."

"He has to go after somebody," the Harvard law professor emeritus and lifelong Democrat explained. "He can't just spend all the money and do nothing."

"If he can find little things that's going to be a victory for him," the lawyer told "Fox & Friends."

For what he has got Manfort and Gates one can walk down the DC Capital streets, randomly throw a dart and hit somebody on the first try that has or is doing what Manafort and Gates have done.

Sure he could, he could address all the rank corruption and thievery he has uncovered. But that would mean indicting dhimmicrats...

I like this phrase the professor uses - "criminalization of political differences."

Sums up, for me, the daily witch hunts from the left.

Yep, the Libs are rejoicing right now because Manafort has been charged, What they are stupid to even think that this is the beginning to bring Hillary down. If Mueller charges Manafort he also has to being charges to Tony Podesta & let the dominoes fall where they may. Unless Mueller will find a way to not charge Podesta to cover for Hillary.

“Mueller Likely Hoping Manafort Charges Will Spark Chain Reaction”

for Podesta Group and other Dems maybe, but there’s nothing to “spark” for Trump

Does he? I disagree. The other side of the aisle will be excused, not charged. And the MSM will give Mueller all the cover he needs.

For anyone thinking this is going to come back on Hitlery or Podesta, think twice. From day one Mueller when Mueller said he was going to get Trump for what he did to his pal Comey, he is going to stick to his charter: investigate collusion (forget it is not a crime) by Trump and his campaign. The blinder were put on him, that is what he will say.

Meanwhile the recusal dunderhead will say, well, I cannot get involved here.

At the end of the day all he can do to Trump is smear him by trapping more of Trumps people. He could recommend charges against him but the DOJ won’t indict a sitting president per previous DOJ policy developed by the Reagan administration and again during Clinton’s term.

The president can only be removed by impeachment.

“Sums up, for me, the daily witch hunts from the left”

I’ll tell you what sums it up for me; IF anyone, anywhere on Planet Earth had any doubts that the Clinton’s don’t own the FBI, (lock, stock, and barrel), then look no further than today’s news.

Yeah, the Clintons continue to walk free. So does Obama and Holder and Lynch. Not to mention Comey.

YOU’VE got to be kidding me!

If there was ever a smokescreen set up to get the heat off Hillary Clinton, -— look no further than todays News!

I’d separate those two. Mueller definitely does not want to indict Hillary which would trigger civil war because it would leave to Obama as well. So he needs an “out”. He’s already got his scalps and could just say “that’s all folks” and fold up his tent leaving the rest for someone else to deal with.

Or he could nail one or both of the Podestas on collusion charges related to the Manafort deal but fall short of tying anything to U1 and bail.

Either way if you look at this thru his lens, the goal is to get out quickly now, not start a chain reaction.

Good thing is most people understand this fact and that’s why they didn’t vote for the corrupt bitch. I’m sure the little NYC, LA Celebrity, and media circle jerk is excited but outside in the real world we all know this stinks.

Manafort he also has to being charges to Tony Podesta & let the dominoes fall where they may

That's the thing about these prosecutions, they don't really have to go after others who have done the same thing or worse. They just ignore it, and use the letter of the law to destroy those who are not part of the protected class. Manafort left the protected class when he helped Trump. And that is the most insidious part of all this, that it prevents Trump from hiring anyone for his future elections or to work in his administration, because they will all become targets. So he remains isolated.

“IF anyone, anywhere on Planet Earth had any doubts that the Clinton’s..”

It goes way beyond them. True they seem to always be involved, but the Manafort/Podesta thing has shown this is uniparty BS. This indictment may have the possible added bonus of some damning info on Trump, but it was strictly to keep the Uranium One/Dossier story from gaining more traction.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mueller has already granted Tony Podesta Immunity for his “cooperation.”
